Embark on a rewarding career as a mechanical systems specialist where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the operation and maintenance of complex mechanical systems.

The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of commissioning, testing, and verification processes, with hands-on experience in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.

Responsibilities include conducting set to work activities, testing, commissioning, and maintaining mechanical systems, as well as training and qualifying as an authorized individual to operate and maintain critical ship equipment.

To be considered for this position, applicants must have a minimum of 5-10 years of experience in commissioning and/or maintenance of mechanical systems, with a strong background in hydraulic systems and/or mechanical elements of propulsion systems.

A Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical or equivalent/higher industry-recognized mechanical qualification is also required. Strong problem-solving skills, teamwork ability, and proficiency in planning and coordination are essential for success in this role.

About the opportunity

  • Conduct STW, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of Hull & Deck and/or Power & Propulsion systems.
  • Train and qualify as an Authorised Individual to operate and maintain HCF systems.
  • Plan, check, and carry out mechanical isolations of ship equipment and systems.
  • Complete test, maintenance, and STW documentation using relevant digital tools.
  • Work closely with the T&C Lead Technicians to execute the T&C program.
  • Share your technical expertise. Support training, drive best practices, and foster continuous improvement.

About you

  • You have 5-10 years' experience in commissioning and/or maintenance of mechanical systems (Hull & Deck or Power & Propulsion).
  • You have hands-on experience in testing, commissioning, and verification of systems.
  • You hold a minimum Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical, or an equivalent/higher industry-recognised mechanical qualification.
  • You have strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.
  • You are skilled in planning and coordination to keep tasks on track.
