Operational Readiness Manager Position

We are currently seeking a dedicated Operational Readiness Manager to ensure seamless day-one operations for our once-in-a-generation runway project.

  • This role involves developing and delivering a comprehensive Operational Readiness and Airport Transfer (ORAT) plan in line with best practice and CASA frameworks.
  • The ideal candidate will map out and drive operational readiness activities, milestones, and stakeholder accountabilities, while leading end-to-end planning, validation, and trial exercises from desktop to full-scale live testing.
  • Strong collaboration and engagement skills are essential for facilitating clear communication with key stakeholders, including Airservices Australia, airlines, AusALPA, airport tenants, and others.
  • The successful candidate will also maintain strong governance and risk management practices throughout the transition from project build to live operations.

Required Skills:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in airport operations and aviation infrastructure.
  • Proven experience managing ORAT or similar operational transition programs.
  • Strong working knowledge of aviation regulations, aeronautical data, ICAO Annex 14, and CASA MOS Part 139.
  • Demonstrated success engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information.
  • High-level problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to lead by influence and champion a culture of safety, quality, and operational readiness.

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Aviation Management, Engineering, or Project Management are advantageous.
  • Project Management accreditation (e.g. PRINCE2 or PMP) is also looked upon favourably.
