The School of Science at UNSW Australia is seeking a highly skilled Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in Stratospheric Physics to join our dynamic team. As a key player, you will contribute to course and curriculum delivery, cultivate a vibrant research portfolio, and drive grant applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assume the position of Station Director at the Balloon Launching Station in Alice Springs NT, working with stakeholders from CSIRO, NASA, and other space agencies.
- Conduct stratospheric balloon flights, blending research and education.
- Develop and deliver courses, cultivate research, and drive grant applications.
- Manage large-scale projects, including contract negotiations, tender evaluations, risk, and budget plans.
Requirements:
- PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated aptitude in Atmospheric physics, electronics, and stratospheric ballooning.
- Proven commitment to keeping up-to-date with discipline knowledge and developments.
- Ability to contribute to and build on the School's research and teaching.
- Capacity to manage large-scale projects and lead research at a national and international level.

The successful candidate will be required to work from the UNSW Canberra campus. To be successful, you will hold Australian Working Rights or Australian Citizenship. UNSW is unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position.
