Clearing Risk Business Analyst Role Overview

The Clearing Risk Business Analyst will lead the business analysis and data stream for the Exchange Traded Derivatives project, part of a multi-year transformation program. This role involves working closely with business users, quantitative analysts, data scientists, and technology SMEs.

To be successful, the candidate must have excellent technical skills, be highly organized, adaptable, and an effective communicator.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Clearing Risk BA stream within the Exchange Traded Derivatives project.
  • Own the documentation, process mapping, and understanding of key data flows.
  • Drive cross-functional responsibilities related to documentation, prioritization, leading workshops, stand-ups, retros, and backlog grooming.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to identify and mitigate data-related program risks, assumptions, and issues.
  • Leverage financial risk, markets, or derivatives IP to document process flows and requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Markets or financial risk expertise, having worked on clearing or financial risk, data integration, or other related transformation projects.
  • Experience working independently and leading data-related BA streams on Tier 1 projects across the full SDLC from discovery to execution.
  • 7+ years of experience in financial services or capital markets, particularly in clearing risk, settlement, or registry functions.
  • Proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, Visio, and industry-standard collaboration and documentation tools.
  • Strong documentation skills and ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders across all seniority levels.
Nice To Have:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance and/or other STEM-related areas.
  • Relevant BA or project management industry certifications.
  • Experience leading Scrum functions and working with cloud-related data products.
