About the Role:

The Senior Technical Manager is responsible for leading high-caliber engineers and driving the strategic direction of hirer journeys. This role provides a unique opportunity to take ownership of daily operations, strengthen engineering practices, and build scalable software aligned with SEEK's technology strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to engineers in building, testing, deploying, and maintaining software.
  • Guide engineers in improving DevOps culture, ensuring platform health, and troubleshooting production incidents.
  • Manage skill development, including secure system design and coding practices.
  • Lead team wellbeing by fostering safety, inclusivity, diversity, and engagement.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and participate in Agile delivery rituals.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, React, and AWS.
  • Experience leading teams & technical outcomes within software teams.
  • CI/CD, cloud development, and API management experience.
  • Mentorship and coaching skills for mid-level and senior engineers.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with geographically distributed teams and senior stakeholders.
