About the Role

Glen Eira Leisure (GEL) is a leading provider of sports and recreation services in Melbourne. As the Sports Programs Assistant, you will be part of a dynamic team that delivers high-quality programs and events across our three main facilities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Sports Programs Team Leader in planning and executing internal sporting competitions, functions, and sports events;
  • Assisting with the rostering of umpires and referees;
  • Maintaining leisure facilities to the highest standards of cleanliness and operation;
  • Providing administrative support to the Sports Programs Team Leader as required;

We are seeking an innovative and efficient individual who can work effectively in a team environment. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential for success in this role.

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills;
  • Experience in sports-related or customer-focused roles;
  • Knowledge and understanding of sports competitions and events;
  • Level 2 First aid with CPR certification (or willingness to obtain);
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, to support delivery of sport competitions;

Please note that the successful candidate will be required to undergo a police records check and pre-employment medical for employment purposes.
