About the Role

In this role, you will contribute to the effective planning and implementation of community and economic development projects across Glen Eira. Your focus will be on projects within our activity centres, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to create new opportunities for businesses to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to celebrate the unique history, local businesses, and stories of each place.
  • Engage with businesses, Traders Associations, property owners, and the community to stay informed on matters relevant to Glen Eira.
  • Support the development and marketing of Neighbourhood Activity Centres' brands.
  • Monitor and report progress on indicators in the Council's Economic Development Action Plan 2024-2026 and related economic development actions in the Council Plan.

About You

You will be a motivated individual with excellent business knowledge and a strong interest in local economic development. Your role involves building lasting partnerships and delivering local projects through research, evaluation, and strategic planning.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience of business management in the commercial sector.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification and/or substantial experience in project management, economic development, commerce, business, planning, social planning, or a similar field.
  • Substantial relevant experience in developing, delivering, and monitoring economic development projects and programs.
  • Experience in developing high-level reports, business cases, and marketing materials.
  • High level of communication skills and experience in building relationships with stakeholders across multiple sectors.
