About the Role

Glen Eira Leisure (GEL) offers a diverse range of sports and competitions across our three main facilities, catering to all ages and abilities. As a Sports Programs Assistant, you will support the Sports Programs Team Leader in delivering these programs and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the organisation and maintenance of internal sporting competitions
  • Support the setup of functions and sports events
  • Coordinate the rostering of umpires and referees
  • Maintain high standards of leisure facilities operation, maintenance, and cleaning
  • Collaborate with the Sports Programs Team Leader to coordinate and implement sports programs and stadium hire
  • Provide administrative support as required
About You

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about sports and recreation who want to develop their skills in the Leisure and Recreation industry.

We are seeking someone innovative, efficient, and team-focused with exceptional stakeholder engagement skills and attention to detail. Strong initiative and time management abilities, along with effective communication and diverse organisational working capabilities, are essential.

Requirements:
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Experience in sports-related or customer-focused roles
  • Knowledge, understanding, and experience in sports competitions and events
  • Level 2 First aid with CPR (or be willing to obtain)
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings to support sport competitions

Please note that the successful candidate must undergo a police records check, pre-employment medical, and WWCC for employment purposes.
