Psychiatric Nurse

This key position in the Primary Mental Health team will provide psychiatric nursing services to the patient population at a correctional facility. You will be responsible for patient treatment, management, assessment, and ongoing reviews. Additionally, you will conduct crisis assessments, develop risk management plans, and engage patients in the development of their mental health recovery plans, including referrals to other service needs, discharge planning, and liaison with external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide psychiatric nursing services to patients in a correctional setting
- Conduct patient assessments, treatment, and management
- Develop and implement risk management plans
- Engage patients in mental health recovery plans
- Liaise with external stakeholders to ensure comprehensive care
Requirements:
- Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in Nursing that meets the requirements of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Current Police Check, or willingness to obtain
- Current driver's license
