Senior Chemist Role

We are the leading provider of waste management services, catering to millions of customers nationwide.

In this pivotal position, you will oversee the safe handling and disposal of hazardous liquids from collection to final disposal points.

  • Offer technical guidance on the acceptance, treatment, and storage of liquid and hazardous waste
  • Provide expert support to site managers, sales teams, and operators on waste assessment, sampling, verification, labelling, handling, and treatment
  • Develop and supervise treatability trials, selecting sustainable treatment methods and verifying their efficacy in ensuring waste is treated responsibly
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and reporting requirements, meeting company expectations and timelines
  • Maintain safe operations using chemical transport and management equipment

This role requires a detail-oriented and analytical individual who thrives in problem-solving environments and excels in collaborative team settings. Ideally, candidates will possess operational experience working with waste or hazardous chemicals.

Key Requirements
  • Degree in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Significant experience working with hazardous substances and chemicals
  • Prior experience in wastewater treatment facilities or chemical fixation/stabilisation facilities
  • Field sampling or laboratory expertise
  • Thorough knowledge of ICP and Laboratory instrument operation/calibration
  • Risk assessments and work instruction expertise
  • Meticulous record-keeping skills within regulated controlled waste environments
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation and regulations governing chemical use, storage, and disposal
