About This Role

This is a fixed-term, full-time position based in Bendigo, with a salary range of $92,332 - $104,762 plus superannuation. The role is classified under 'special measures' of Section 12 of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake regular monitoring of regional performance and contribute to the formation of policy and procedures that strengthen culturally appropriate case practice.
  • Support regional specific workforce development initiatives with connecting Aboriginal clients to supports and services.
  • Based in Bendigo, this role supports and develops case management staff to enhance their ability to provide culturally appropriate practice; whilst increasing knowledge of Aboriginal culture and building cultural capacity across all CCS positions.
  • This includes guiding CCS staff to improve connectedness to programs and cultural supports for Aboriginal clients.
  • This position may require the successful candidate to frequently travel to all office locations within the Loddon Mallee as required.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Aboriginal community, both society and culture, and the issues impacting it.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of culturally safe and supportive case management practices for Aboriginal clients, using these skills to influence case management practice to reduce risk and maximise individual outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and work effectively with the Victorian Aboriginal community.
  • No relevant tertiary qualification is required but experience in dealing with the complex needs of Aboriginal people and community in complex environments and other relevant experience is desired.
