About the Opportunity

At Mercy Health, we're committed to delivering exceptional care and services to our residents. As a Lifestyle Assistant, you'll play a vital role in creating cherished moments and better health outcomes for our residents each day.

Key Responsibilities
  • Activity Planning: Organize and facilitate recreational and social activities tailored to residents' interests, promoting engagement and socialization.
  • Wellness Support: Assist with physical and mental wellness programs, including exercise and cognitive games, to enhance residents' overall well-being.
  • Personal Engagement
    • Companionship: Provide emotional support and companionship to residents through conversation and shared activities, fostering meaningful connections.
    • Life Story Work: Encourage residents to share their life stories, promoting understanding and empathy.
  • Family Interaction
    • Communication: Act as a liaison between residents and their families, providing updates on activities and well-being, ensuring open communication.
    • Support: Assist families in understanding the care processes and available resources, providing guidance and support.
  • Environment Management
    • Safety: Ensure a safe and comfortable living environment, addressing any concerns or hazards, prioritizing resident safety.
    • Personalization: Help residents personalize their living spaces to reflect their preferences and memories, promoting a sense of home.
  • Administrative Support
    • Documentation: Assist with maintaining records related to activities and residents' engagement, ensuring accurate documentation.
    • Coordination: Collaborate with healthcare staff to integrate lifestyle programs with overall care plans, promoting seamless care.
Requirements
  • National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Clearance.
  • Current COVID-19 certificate, proof of current influenza vaccination, and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
