About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sustainability Manager to join our team at CAR Group. As a key member of our People and Culture team, you will play a critical role in driving our global sustainability strategy and ensuring we operate a sustainable business that future generations will be proud of.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement our global decarbonisation strategy, working collaboratively with teams across our marketplaces to assess and reduce emissions.
  • Assist in preparations for mandatory Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS) and other future reporting requirements.
  • Support the implementation of our carbon accounting platform and work with global teams to calculate our GHG footprint.
  • Review our supply chain and engage with key suppliers to understand their carbon emissions management, enabling us to better measure, manage, and reduce our Scope 3 emissions.
  • Contribute to various sustainability initiatives, including our annual Sustainability Report, external ESG rankings, and materiality assessments.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of sustainability reporting standards, environmental landscape, and decarbonisation strategies.
  • Several years of experience in in-house sustainability roles or consulting with an environmental and/or reporting focus.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to influence.
  • Analytical and innovative thinker with a passion for continuous learning and process improvement.
  • Ability to work in a global business, collaborating with teams across multiple time zones.
  • Proactive can-do attitude with a willingness to do what it takes to get the job done.
