Job Description

AWS Global Services encompasses a global team of experts who collaborate with customers to design, build, operate and secure their cloud environments. Customers leverage AWS Professional Services for innovation, upskill through AWS Training and Certification, optimize with AWS Support and Managed Services, and achieve objectives with AWS Security Assurance Services. Our expertise spans across emerging technologies including AWS Partners, AWS Sovereign Cloud, AWS International Product, and the Generative AI Innovation Center.

As a Technical Account Manager, you will join a diverse team of technical experts in dozens of countries who help customers achieve success with the AWS cloud.

Location: Canberra

Responsibilities
  • Build solutions, provide technical guidance and advocate for customers
  • Ensure AWS environments remain operationally healthy while reducing cost and complexity
  • Develop trusting relationships with customers, understanding their business needs and technical challenges
  • Drive technical discussions regarding incidents, trade-offs, and risk management using technical acumen and customer obsession
  • Consult with partners from developers through to C-suite executives
  • Collaborate with AWS Solutions Architects, Business Developers, Professional Services Consultants, and Sales Account Managers
  • Proactively find opportunities for customers to gain additional value from AWS
  • Provide detailed reviews of service disruptions, metrics, and prelaunch planning
  • Provide post-sales, consultative expertise as part of the wider Enterprise Support team
  • Solve problems across different customers as they migrate workloads to the cloud
  • Uplift customer capabilities by running workshops and brown bag sessions
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Basic Requirements: 5+ years of technical engineering experience; experience with operational parameters and troubleshooting for two or more of the following: compute, storage, networking, CDN, databases, DevOps, big data and analytics, security, or applications development in a distributed systems environment; experience with AWS services or other cloud offerings
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in internal enterprise or external customer-facing environments as a technical lead; working knowledge of software development practices and technologies; background working with Public Sector customers
