Description:

The Role

In this role, you'll work with clients, vendors, and delivery partners to design, implement, and optimise on-premises virtualised platforms, physical hardware, and public cloud services.

You'll bring proven experience in designing, deploying, and managing virtualisation platforms such as VMware and Azure Local, with the ability to balance BAU operations alongside complex project delivery. Proficiency in strong scripting skills and a current, in-depth knowledge of the Azure ecosystem.

Role Responsibilities

Platform Support BU

  • Day to day operations of on-premises virtual platforms including Active Directory (AD) and Intune management.
  • Azure Local engineering and administration - including upgrading, compliance, provisioning of VMs.

Architecture Support

  • Create high-quality technical diagrams and architectural artefacts to support solution design and implementation.
  • Collaborate with solution architects, security teams, and project stakeholders to ensure designs meet business and technical requirements.

Skills and Experiences:

Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • AGSVA Clearance: Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1)
  • 5+ years of experience as an Infrastructure Engineer
  • 3 tier infrastructure hardware experience
  • Proven experience with:
    • vSphere/VMware
    • Azure Local engineering and administration - including upgrading, compliance, provisioning of VMs
    • SOE development and configuration - Windows and MacOS
    • Certificate Management
    • Active Directory Administration
    • InTune configuration and administration - Windows, Android, iOS and MacOS
    • Fortimail
  • Proven experience with Azure Cloud Platform
  • Proven experience with Azure Local
  • Proven experience with VMWare/VCF
  • Proficiency in scripting and infrastructure as code
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including Active Directory, Windows Server, SCCM, and PowerShell scripting.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in server hardware design, deployment, including management tools.
  • Strong knowledge of private cloud platforms, hypervisors, and platform services. VMware and Azure Local
  • Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, PowerShell).
  • Demonstrated ability to produce detailed design documentation and security artefacts.
  • Experience with hybrid cloud integration
  • Ability to create professional technical diagrams
  • Understanding of security frameworks and compliance requirements for infrastructure environments.

Qualifications

  • A recognised ICT certification or tertiary qualification
  • Azure certifications are highly desirable.
