SHEQ Manager

About the Role:
Ventia is seeking a highly skilled SHEQ Manager to lead the safety, health, and environment initiatives for an upcoming project. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of procedures and practices that comply with Australian Standards and relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety and environmental management systems to minimize risk and ensure compliance.
- Lead the safety and environment team to provide effective and efficient safety and environmental management.
- Conduct investigations into safety-related incidents and provide recommendations to improve safety practices.
- Maintain a safe working culture through active engagement and education of leaders and the workforce.
- Instill a proactive and positive team culture within the operations team.
- Oversee employee rehabilitation and maintain effective record management.
- Escalate and report incidents and issues as per Ventia's framework.
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in workplace/occupation health and safety, environmental, or quality equivalent.
- Formal training in incident investigation and management systems.
- Experience as a safety professional in industrial safety and possession of required technical skills and knowledge.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and a positive team culture.
