SHEQ Manager

About the Role:
Ventia is seeking a highly skilled SHEQ Manager to lead the safety and environment team for an upcoming project. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of procedures and practices that comply with Australian Standards and relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety and environmental management systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Lead the safety and environment team to provide effective and efficient safety and environmental management.
- Conduct investigations into safety-related incidents and provide recommendations to improve safety performance.
- Maintain a safe working culture on the project site through active engagement and education of leaders and the workforce.
- Oversee employee rehabilitation and return-to-work planning.
- Manage safety and environmental records and reports.
- Escalate and report incidents and issues as per Ventia's framework.
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in workplace/occupation health and safety, environmental, or quality equivalent.
- Formal training in incident investigation.
- Management systems and lead auditor qualifications.
- Experience as a safety professional in industrial safety with the required technical skills and knowledge.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and a positive team culture.
