Job Summary:


We are seeking a highly skilled Art Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team at Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network.


About the Role:


This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Art Therapist to provide comprehensive Arts in Aged Care therapy services to residents and their families/carers across all areas of Strathalbyn Aged Care.


You will be responsible for planning, documenting, implementing, and evaluating programs that offer a range of therapy-based and therapeutic arts activities and interventions.


Your goal will be to support residents' participation while promoting overall health and wellbeing within the aged care community.


As an effective communicator, you will work collaboratively with carer staff, nursing staff, allied health professionals, and other aged care service providers to achieve excellent outcomes.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Develop and implement individualized art therapy plans to meet the unique needs of residents
  • Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to monitor residents' progress and adjust therapy plans accordingly
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of therapy sessions, including resident feedback and progress
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless integration of art therapy into existing treatment plans
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in art therapy and aged care

Requirements:


To be successful in this role, you will require:



  • A Bachelor or Master's Degree in Art Therapy, with eligibility for registration with ANZACATA
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Strong observational and counselling skills, with the ability to tailor art therapy sessions to meet individual needs
  • A passion for working with older adults and a commitment to delivering high-quality art therapy services
