About the Role
- This is a part-time position working 18.75 hours per week at the Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network, Strathalbyn and District Residential Aged Care Facility
- Salary: $88,255 - $102,240 p.a. (pro rata) - AHP2
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Creative Arts Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team in providing arts-based therapy services to residents and their families/carers across all areas of Strathalbyn Aged Care.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, document, implement, and evaluate programs which offer a range of therapy-based and therapeutic arts activities and interventions to support resident participation and overall health and wellbeing within the aged care community.
- Evaluate residents' reactions and behaviours during therapy sessions to monitor their physical, cognitive, and emotional wellbeing.
- Ensure music and art supplies and equipment are adequately stocked and promote the benefits of music and/or art therapy services within the aged care facility and with external stakeholders.
Requirements
- A Bachelor or Master's Degree of Art Therapy with eligibility for registration with the Australian, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapy Association (ANZACATA), or a Bachelor or Master's Degree of Music Therapy accredited by the Australian Music Therapy Association (AMTA) and Registration with AMTA with requisite continuing professional development set by AMTA.
- Demonstrate patience, empathy, and creativity, along with excellent observational and counselling skills, effective communication skills, and a passion for art and/or music.
- Contribute and work collaboratively as a member of the multidisciplinary team, interacting with carer staff, nursing staff, and allied health professionals, as well as other aged care service providers.
