At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, more than 80 000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your maintenance expertise in a new cutting-edge field. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will primarily be responsible for the maintenance and repair of the Rolling Stock and its associated equipment based at the Lilyfield Sydney Light Rail Depot. This role will require you to participate in a rotating shift roster (4 weeks of Mon - Fri 6am - 2pm, then 4 weeks of Sun - Thurs 2pm - 10pm). We'll look to you for:
- Regularly performing wheel changes for the light rail vehicles (very physical task).
- Carrying out routine examinations, fault finding, interrogation and diagnostic testing on tram equipment installed on Sydney Light Rail Vehicles (LRV) sub-systems.
- Actively maintaining and repairing tram equipment installed on LRVs.
- Following all established safety procedures and utilising safety equipment as required.
- Reporting on activities, problems found and measures taken.
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders and understanding as well as implementing quality control measures.
All about you
We value passion and attitude over experience. That's why we don't expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we've listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:
- A team-player with a can-do attitude.
- The ability to participate in the rotating shift roster.
- Demonstrated maintenance experience with the ability to fault find, diagnose and repair.
- Experience within Rail/Rolling Stock or similar industry preferred, but not essential.
- Certificate III Engineering (Mechanical Trade).
Things you'll enjoy
Play a critical role in supporting the safe operation of Light Rail Vehicles for Sydney. You'll also have the opportunity to develop your career in a global industry leader, receive 18 weeks paid parental leave, have access to a free corporate gym membership, receive free salary continuity insurance, and have free access to Alstom University (1000's of courses and learning material).
You don't need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you'll be proud. If you're up for the challenge, we'd love to hear from you.
