Communications Maintenance Technician

The Communications Maintenance Technician will be responsible for executing the weekly work schedule and approved breaks. They will perform general maintenance tasks on surface and underground equipment, including fixed infrastructure and mobile equipment.
The successful candidate will execute maintenance activities in accordance with relevant HSE standards, assist in developing and enhancing task lists, work procedures, and instructions. They will also identify and implement maintenance execution improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate commitment to customer service, both internal and external to the business. They will pursue operating perfection in work practices and approach, reporting events, work requirements, and hazards in a timely and accurate manner.
Additionally, the Communications Maintenance Technician will update events and work requests with an accurate scope of work, supporting effective planning of work. They will comply with 1SAP Work Management processes related to work identification, execution, and capturing of related historical information.
RequirementsThe successful candidate will possess a certification 3 or 4 in Electronics and Communications TAFE or similar. They will have completed a full apprenticeship and post-apprenticeship work. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of IP Networks, networking, and switches.
They will also have a background in underground analogue or digital radio systems, as well as a basic understanding of communications systems outside of radio communications. The Communications Maintenance Technician will have strong technical skills, the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues, and the ability to work effectively in a team.
Additional skills that will be highly considered include a Limited Electrical license, a background in Electric Telecommunications, SAP knowledge, and a commitment to health, safety, and the environment.
