Product Designer - User Experience Specialist

As a Product Designer at our company, you will be responsible for shaping the user experience across native apps. Our diverse, creative, and inclusive team is committed to delivering exceptional results.

You will conduct research in a structured way, using empathy to understand user needs and uncover opportunities. Synthesise large amounts of data, crafting compelling insights that draw on multiple sources including customer research, desktop research, and data analytics.

About the Role:

  • Owning the end-to-end product design lifecycle from research and ideation to high-fidelity UI design.
  • Conducting user research in a structured way, using empathy to understand user needs and uncover untapped opportunities.
  • Synthesising large amounts of data, crafting compelling insights that draw on multiple sources including customer research, desktop research, and data analytics.
  • Leading co-design workshops, applying Design Thinking methodology to gain alignment around design problems and opportunities.
  • Contributing to Service Blueprinting and User Journey Mapping across key touch points for personalisation and multimedia experience initiatives.
  • Designing intuitive and visually appealing high fidelity user interfaces for native mobile and web applications that are development-ready in sync with Agile sprints and timelines.
  • Championing accessibility, consistency, and design excellence across all platforms.
  • Advocating for user needs while aligning with business goals and journalistic values.

About You:

  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience shipping products, developing Design Systems.
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field such as User Interface Design, User Experience (UX) Design, Product (UX/UI) Design, Industrial Design, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in design tools Figma, JIRA, Confluence, and other relevant software.
  • Experience in design thinking methodologies, human-centered design, or other relevant design frameworks.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage designs across multiple products simultaneously.
