Senior Consultant, Industrial Relations Role

This is a project-based opportunity within a high-impact environment.

You will be a key partner in delivering a next-generation payroll system.

Responsibilities:

  1. Draw on your substantial expertise in Industrial Relations and demonstrate the ability to interpret complex Enterprise Agreements.
  2. Play a critical role in payroll compliance and drive effective remediation processes.
  3. Be an adept collaborator, working seamlessly across departments, partnering with Legal teams to clarify and action compliance requirements, coordinating with Project Managers to ensure milestones are met, and engaging with IT professionals to translate IR needs into technical solutions.
  4. Use your analytical mindset and meticulous attention to detail to enable you to design comprehensive testing regimes and robust review processes, ensuring that the payroll platform not only meets current obligations but is resilient to future changes in industrial regulations.
  5. Take a proactive approach to identifying gaps, proposing enhancements, and documenting outcomes, which directly contribute to the integrity and success of the new system.
  6. Provide commitment to best practice, compliance, and continuous improvement, positioning you as a trusted partner and key contributor to this transformative project.

Requirements:

  • Considerable experience in industrial/employee relations, including specialist expertise in employment law.
  • Hands-on experience with payroll, a detailed understanding of relevant legislative frameworks, and a proven track record of successfully implementing compliance measures within large organisations.
  • Experience with engaging Unions and a strong understanding of union priorities and practices.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present findings, explain regulatory considerations, and facilitate training.
  • Tertiary qualified with a degree in Employee/Industrial Relations/Human Resources/Law or related discipline.
