Claims Governance Specialist

This role is responsible for the delivery of Line 1 Risk & Governance activities which support the Claims teams within across all channels and portfolios.

The Claims Governance & Risk Specialist will actively participate and support the compliance and risk management strategies for Claims team including (but not limited to) contributing to proactive risk management through insights, continuous improvement & relevant internal frameworks and policies along with input into risk management strategy development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of Line 1 Risk & Governance activities
  • Supporting the Claims teams
  • Compliance and risk management strategies
  • Contributing to proactive risk management
  • Continuous improvement and relevant internal frameworks and policies

Requirements:

- Significant experience (5+years) in a relevant Risk Management and/or Compliance environment and/or Technical Claims environment or similar

- Degree qualified in a business-related line e.g. legal/accounting/commerce/risk would be advantageous

- Sound understanding of the legal and regulatory framework surrounding life insurance and of managing risk in such an environment

- A sound understanding of life insurance industry, claims handling, and complaints resolution experience is highly desirable

- Track record of delivering sustainable solutions to reduce or eliminate inefficiency in business processes

- Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work as a team member;

- Relevant analytic / problem solving ability;

- Ability to influence and achieve outcomes in consultation with senior management & key stakeholders across the organisation

- Strong written and verbal communication with a proven ability to articulate technical issues; and

- Ability to develop strong working relationships across all levels
