Contract Opportunity for a Procurement Manager

Role Overview

As a Procurement Manager, you will be instrumental in facilitating sourcing initiatives across various categories. Your role will involve overseeing both operational and capital expenditures, ensuring the successful delivery of projects while optimizing costs. You will engage in national projects, leveraging your procurement expertise to manage a wide array of categories effectively.

We are looking to fill two Procurement Manager positions: one focusing on Corporate Affairs, which encompasses categories such as professional services, facilities management, legal services, insurance, marketing, banking, and consulting; and the other in Customer & Technology, where you will manage categories related to IT hardware, software, roadside tolling, banking, customer service, and debt collection.

In this dynamic role, you will have the chance to influence the future of tolling services and enhance customer experiences while driving innovation in how Australians interact with toll roads.

Your Responsibilities

  • Comprehend the objectives and desired outcomes of business units.
  • Formulate and implement cost-optimization strategies for third-party suppliers and service providers.
  • Support the development of category management plans for specified categories.
  • Lead comprehensive procurement processes, including stakeholder engagement, strategy formulation, tender management, supplier negotiations, and contract finalization.
  • Negotiate commercial terms to achieve optimal value solutions.
  • Streamline the supplier base through strategic partnerships.
  • Conduct detailed cost analyses to uncover cost reduction opportunities.
  • Prepare regular reports on cost optimization initiatives and results.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal teams.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Extensive sourcing experience, preferably in indirect categories, with proficiency in managing these spending categories. Experience in infrastructure, finance, utilities, and insurance is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with the sourcing process and technology-based systems, including spend analytics.
  • Demonstrated success in enhancing supply chain processes and advancing strategic sourcing and category management programs.
  • Strong analytical, business process analysis, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Expertise in data management, including data entry, formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and visualization.
  • Proven negotiation and contract management skills, with a solid understanding of business and legal terms.
