About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Procurement Manager to join our team at Qantas Group Procurement. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies that align with business and commercial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that drive commercial benefits and improve operational efficiency
  • Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable contractual arrangements
  • Provide commercial advice to support key strategic projects across the Ground Handling services portfolio
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and objectives
  • Manage complex workloads and competing priorities, particularly in procurement

Requirements:

  • 10+ years' experience working in strategic sourcing, category management, procurement, or commercial roles within large multi-national organizations
  • Experience in procurement category management, leading large-scale sourcing activities, and complex negotiations
  • Strong leadership skills with demonstrable ability in running cross-functional projects/teams and delivering outcomes in a time-sensitive environment
  • High level of commercial acumen, with exceptional negotiation skills and extensive experience in engaging with suppliers
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and convince stakeholders, build effective business relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Knowledge of airline ground handling and operations categories is highly beneficial
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in business or finance and MCIPS qualification
