About the Position

As a Procurement Manager at Transurban, you will be instrumental in steering and enhancing sourcing initiatives across various categories. Your proficiency will be vital in overseeing both operational and capital expenditures, ensuring that our projects are executed with efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Engaging in national projects and initiatives, your robust procurement expertise will guide processes across diverse procurement categories.

We are currently seeking two Procurement Managers. One will focus on Corporate Affairs, managing categories such as professional services, facilities management, legal services, insurance, marketing, banking, and consulting. The other successful candidate will operate within Customer & Technology, leveraging your skills in categories related to IT hardware, software, roadside tolling, banking, customer service, and debt collection.

In a dynamic and transformative environment, you will have the chance to influence the future of tolling services and customer experiences while fostering innovation and excellence in how Australians interact with toll roads.

Your Responsibilities Include:

  • Grasping business unit objectives and desired outcomes.
  • Formulating and implementing cost-optimization strategies for third-party suppliers and service providers.
  • Supporting category management plans for designated categories.
  • Leading comprehensive procurement processes, encompassing stakeholder engagement, strategy formulation, tender management, supplier negotiations, and contract finalization.
  • Negotiating commercial terms to achieve optimal value solutions.
  • Streamlining the supplier base through strategic partnerships.
  • Conducting detailed cost analyses to uncover cost reduction opportunities.
  • Preparing regular reports on cost optimization activities and results.
  • Building strong relationships with internal teams.

This role is ideal for individuals with:

  • Extensive sourcing experience, preferably in indirect categories, along with proficiency in managing these spend categories. Experience in infrastructure, finance, utilities, and insurance is preferred but not essential.
  • Familiarity with the sourcing process and technology-based systems (WSS), including spend analytics.
  • A proven history of enhancing supply chain processes and advancing strategic sourcing and category management programs.
  • Strong analytical, business process analysis, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Expertise in data entry, management, formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and visualization.
  • Demonstrated negotiation and contract management skills, with a solid understanding of business and legal terms.
