Fabrication Apprentice Opportunity

We are seeking a Fabrication Apprentice to join our shipbuilding program at the Osborne Naval Shipyard.

About the Role
  • This is an exciting opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in fabrication and engineering.
  • You will gain practical experience working in the shipyard while completing a Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade.
Key Responsibilities
  • Fabricate a variety of materials, including metals and alloys.
  • Learns various welding processes, including shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) and gas metal arc welding (GMAW).
  • Develop knowledge of fabrication codes and standards, including AS/NZS 1796 and AS/NZS 4100.
  • Apply health and safety processes in the workplace, adhering to regulations and guidelines.
  • Contribute to improving business culture by implementing process improvements and best practices.

  • An ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Behaviours that demonstrate integrity, respect, honesty, and a positive attitude.
  • A demonstrated interest and understanding of becoming an apprentice in a highly sought-after trade.
