Job Title: Project Pursuit Manager

About the Role

The role is part of a team responsible for leading efforts on key sales opportunities, ensuring efficient development of estimates, proposals and prices in alignment with Sales, Operations and supporting functions.


This position plays a crucial role in driving business growth by identifying and pursuing new opportunities, building strong relationships with clients, and developing strategic plans to achieve business objectives.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead proposal efforts from bid-no bid approval until order booking, including coordination and development of the proposal in all aspects.
  • Identify and assign team members to work on opportunities, review their assignments and ensure accuracy and completeness of estimates prepared.
  • Support Sales Leaders/General Managers to assess opportunities and create bidding strategies, assign work to team members and review action rails.
  • Create and maintain bid plans, coordinate follow-up calls, assign actions and help ensure they are completed on time.
  • Review and approve final estimate packages to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to formal quotation approval.
  • Support project teams to create project delivery plans, including labor histograms, project schedules and WBS, sometimes drafting those oneself.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, bid strategy and presentation meetings, and may be co-responsible for closing sales with Sales Leaders.

Requirements
  • University degree
  • Minimum five years of experience in Bid Management or Project Management
  • Working experience with MS Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Project and Project Management Methodology
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience of the Bid Management process and best practices
  • Technical knowledge of HBS core systems, such as BMS, HVAC, Security, Fire and EVAC
  • Excellent organization, management and communication skills
  • Leadership attitude
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrated success working effectively in a deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to work on multiple projects/opportunities at one time

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a highly matrixed organization
  • Understanding of the HBS value proposition
  • Knowledge of industry and market trends
  • Depth of knowledge of customers' businesses and drivers
  • Experience with balancing short-term results with long-term strategy
  • Member of Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP)
