Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia beBeeLeadership Full time $150,000 - $180,000
Job Description

Financial leaders are responsible for guiding business decisions and ensuring financial integrity. This role is a key leadership position where you will lead from the front, influencing direction, embedding lasting improvements, and ensuring financial operations run smoothly.

Key responsibilities include maintaining financial integrity, managing commercial risk, and reviewing contractual arrangements including international operations. You will work closely with our Executive Team to bring insight and clarity to business decisions.

This is a full-time position based in Newcastle CBD office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes (journals, reconciliation, prepayments, accruals)
  • Prepare and review statutory reports including BAS, FBT, VAT returns, and payroll tax
  • Manage all commercial document reviews, including client and subcontractor contracts, insurance, and other legal agreements
  • Lead financial analysis across project margins, consultant utilisation, and business unit performance — with actionable commentary and recommendations
  • Oversee accounting, tax, and reporting obligations across our international entities (UK, Canada) and global projects
  • Manage and develop a small internal finance team responsible for payroll, AP/AR, and general accounting

About You:

You're commercially minded, detail-driven, and confident advising at all levels of the business. You take pride in leading by example and creating consistency in systems and processes. You enjoy solving problems and keeping things moving — especially when there are competing priorities.

Just as we're a trusted advisor to our clients, you're someone who builds that same level of trust internally.

What You'll Bring:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Law
  • Strong knowledge of financial legislation and compliance frameworks
  • Experience across both core financial control and commercial/contractual matters
  • Systems savvy — ideally with experience in large ERP platforms
  • Advanced Excel skills as well as experience or interest in Power BI
  • International tax or invoicing experience highly regarded

Why Join?

Step into a broad, hands-on role with real influence

Gain international exposure without leaving Newcastle

Enjoy a flexible, people-first workplace that values initiative and collaboration

Be part of a high-calibre internal team that's central to how the business operates
