The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Associate to join our premier, award-winning Band 1 Corporate M&A team in Sydney.
In this role, you will have exposure to some of the best and highest-profile deals in Australia and work closely with a range of leading Partners across our Corporate group.
Key Responsibilities
- Work across a range of corporate transactions, including public and private M&A deals, and cross-border transactions.
- Act as lead lawyer on M&A transactions, including drafting and negotiating key transaction documents, leading due diligence, and providing advice on areas of legal risk for clients.
- Project manage transactions to ensure that key deadlines are met, and deliverables are anticipated.
- Manage and build external client relationships, including assisting with business development activities for key existing clients and new clients.
- Mentor junior associates in the team and take an active role in their professional development.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in law and an unrestricted Australian or New Zealand practicing certificate.
- Quality experience as a Senior Associate within a leading corporate M&A practice.
- Experience across public and/or private M&A, and corporate advisory experience.
- Excellent academic results, and a passion for continued learning.
- A desire and energy to contribute to a high-performing team, and actively supervise and support others.
- A proactive approach and ability to work to tight timeframes, collaboratively and at times autonomously.
- A curiosity about clients, and eagerness to build relationships to support the growth and reputation of the practice.
