At CatholicCare Diocese of Broken Bay, we are committed to providing exceptional support services to individuals and families affected by domestic violence. We are currently seeking a skilled Domestic Violence Support Specialist to join our team on the Central Coast.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Caseworker – Staying Home Leaving Violence (SHLV) to provide high-quality, flexible, client-centered case management services to clients of our SHLV team. As a Domestic Violence Support Specialist, you will work closely with women and children who have been impacted by violence and abuse, providing them with practical and emotional support to escape and recover from their experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive case management services to support families, including advocacy, safety planning, and collaboration with other services;
  • Conduct timely intake and triage assessments to identify client needs and develop effective support plans;
  • Deliver group facilitation on family education programs to promote healthy relationships and parenting skills;
  • Foster strong relationships with external stakeholders and community groups, including NSW Police, Department of Communities and Justice, and NSW Health;
  • Maintain professional record-keeping and information-sharing practices consistent with NSW legislation and policies.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences, or equivalent qualifications;
  • A minimum of 2-3 years' experience in case management working with victims of domestic violence;
  • An understanding of the NSW Human Services Outcomes Framework;
  • Solid knowledge of parenting programs and an ability to facilitate such programs;
  • Demonstrated practice experience relating to current Child Protection and DFV legislation;
  • Ability to network and advocate with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Strong advocacy skills in situations of high pressure and competing agendas;
  • Ability to manage crisis or safety situations and make sound decisions under pressure;
  • A Working With Children Check and Criminal History Check;
  • A NSW Driver's Licence and insured vehicle.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary package, including $43.08 per hour + super + salary packaging options. The estimated annual salary for this position is approximately $90,000 - $100,000 based on a full-time schedule and assuming 38 hours worked per week.
