We currently have a diverse team of researchers, strategists, designers, technologists, and producers working towards our mission from our head office in Melbourne and remotely from various locations across Australia.

This role sits within our Design Services team, which consists of multidisciplinary human-centred designers and producers who aim to understand and define the needs of people and organisations.

About You

A highly skilled developer with expertise in solving complex technical problems. You possess deep technical knowledge, particularly in Azure or AWS ecosystems, and are adaptable across diverse technology stacks spanning Microsoft and open-source environments.

As a senior developer, you write clean, thoughtful code and prioritise building the right things, in the right way, at the right time. You're comfortable navigating various development environments and possess a solid understanding of architecture, performance, and modern development practices.

Beyond coding, you're a team player who offers guidance to junior developers, provides constructive feedback, and collaborates with designers and producers to deliver integrated solutions. You're curious, generous with your knowledge, and open to new approaches.

A Day in the Life as a Senior Developer:
  • Writing code for transport and geospatial projects
  • Mentoring mid-level or junior developers on features and providing directed advice
  • Reviewing pull requests to enhance code quality
  • Leading Deep Dive sessions to increase skill levels in desired technologies
  • Collaborating with producers to plan and execute project architecture
  • Participating in sprint planning and mentoring junior developers while they pair on tasks.
