Job Title: Senior Culinary Artist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef to lead our kitchen team. As a Senior Culinary Artist, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of dishes in a fast-paced environment. Your expertise in cooking techniques, menu planning, and staff management will be essential in delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Responsibilities include:
  • Plan and direct food preparation, cooking, and presentation from entrees to mains, including fresh house-made dishes.
  • Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Work collaboratively with cooks and other kitchen staff to achieve smooth provisioning and purchasing of supplies.
  • Develop menus that showcase flavourful and popular dishes with customers.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and other food preparation workers, prioritizing productivity and quality.
  • Monitor and ensure food quality, quantity, taste, and presentation meet customer expectations.
  • Perform tasks such as checking quality/presentation of orders and maintaining a clean, hygienic environment.
  • Assist the Director in recruitment activities, making recommendations, conducting interviews, and selecting candidates.
  • Stock and maintain adequate levels of food products at line stations, advising on cooking methods and practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2).
  • 3 years of work experience.
  • Ability to handle busy service, ensuring quality and speed of food delivery.
  • Hardworking, positive attitude.
  • Ability to work within a team and independently, being available for weekdays, weekends, and nights.
