Job Title: SMSF Manager

Are you a seasoned professional looking to lead a high-performing team in the continued growth of a sophisticated, advice-led SMSF business? We are seeking an experienced SMSF manager to oversee the day-to-day operations and ensure seamless delivery of our services.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership and guidance to the SMSF teams whilst being 'hands on' and responsible for financial statements, fund establishment and administration.
  • Key focus on review of early career/assistant/associate accountant's work.
  • Serve as a key technical resource on complex matters—internally and to aligned advisers across the group.
  • Oversee workflow, compliance, and client service.
  • Partner with the Director on strategy, growth, and innovation initiatives.
  • Continuously improve systems and processes to support scalable, efficient operations.
  • Collaborate with advisers and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth fund administration and delivery.
  • Support succession planning through people development and technical uplift.
  • Liaise with Auditors, the ATO and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience—team leadership or second-in-charge looking to grow within a large group with a national presence.
  • Strong technical knowledge of SMSF tax, structuring, strategies, compliance and regulatory obligations.
  • Confidence working with and supporting financial/investment advisers.
  • Experience with Class, BGL or equivalent platforms.
  • A solutions-oriented person who is collaborative, enjoys being hands on and overseeing, developing and empowering a team.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • CA/CPA qualified.
