Job Opportunity

The Townsville City Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced solicitor to join our dynamic legal team. This fixed-term, full-time opportunity will provide the successful candidate with the chance to work on a range of areas of legal services.


About the Role
  • This role requires general practice legal experience, along with a strong foundation in legal research and the ability to draft clear, well-reasoned legal opinions.
  • Sound written communication skills are essential, as well as the confidence to prepare technical legal documents and reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide advice on legislation relevant to local government.
  • Assist in-house counsel in a range of areas of legal services.
  • Draft clear, well-reasoned legal opinions.
  • Prepare technical legal documents and reports.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in law.
  • General practice legal experience.
  • Strong foundation in legal research.
  • Sound written communication skills.
  • Confidence in preparing technical legal documents and reports.
