About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Energy Australia. As a key member of our site-based team, you will be responsible for leading and supporting the implementation of health and safety programs across our Jeeralang site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice on health and safety systems and programs to support the site's existing capabilities.
  • Monitor and review incidents and actions in the HSSE Management System to identify areas for improvement.
  • Support incident management and investigations to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Chair the monthly Jeeralang HSE Meeting and lead safety conversations during site forums.
  • Assist the site leadership team with risk management processes, including hazard identification, risk assessment, and establishment of suitable controls.
  • Facilitate and support the execution of site targets and objectives, and implement site and enterprise-wide improvement programs.
  • Ensure the site team operates within Energy Australia's Group HSSE management system frameworks.

About You

We are looking for a highly experienced and skilled Health and Safety Specialist with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role within heavy industry. You will have strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
