Job Description

As a Combat Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for contributing to the development of DDG CS upgrades under the Destroyer Capability Enhancement program. You will work with the DDG Systems Engineering, Integration and Test team to design and develop subsystems and associated components.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to combat system systems engineering activities, supporting requirements analysis, architecture definition, and development of subsystems and components.
  • Develop, maintain, and update system functional and non-functional requirements and design artefacts.
  • Prepare for and support major program milestones, such as design reviews, test readiness, and system readiness reviews.
  • Develop, prosecute, and support the implementation of approved engineering changes.

Additionally, you will interact with specialty engineering disciplines to achieve design assurance and holistic system compliance.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Past exposure to integration, test, and evaluation of combat system products into naval platforms or equivalent complex military systems.
  • Substantial experience with combat system requirements within a maritime context.
  • Experience across the systems engineering lifecycle, methods, tools (DOORS and Rational Publishing Engine), and techniques.
  • Experience in the design and development of military systems, including utilization of GFX and COTS components.
  • Substantial experience working in an engineering project multi-disciplinary environment, preferably within the defense industry.
  • Experience working with a broad set of internal stakeholders and external partnering organizations to achieve common goals.
  • Experience in development methodologies on complex modern systems using a documented process.
