Combat System Design Specialist

The Combat Systems Engineer plays a pivotal role in the DDG Systems Engineering, Integration and Test team.
Main Responsibilities- Contribute to and execute Combat System (CS) Systems Engineering activities supporting requirements analysis, architecture definition and development of subsystems and associated components in preparation for integration, test and trials/evaluation.
- Develop, maintain and update system functional and non-functional requirements and design artefacts.
- Prepare for and support the execution of major program milestones such as design reviews, test readiness and system readiness reviews.
- Develop, prosecute and support the implementation of approved Engineering Changes.
- Interact with specialty engineering disciplines, including but not limited to: Safety; Human Factors; Cyber; Topside and ILS for the purposes of achieving design assurance and holistic system compliance.
- Prior experience in the Integration, Test and Evaluation of CS Products into Naval Platforms or equivalent complex Military Systems having challenging constraints.
- Substantial experience with Combat System requirements within a maritime context.
- Experience across the systems engineering lifecycle, methods, tools (DOORS and Rational Publishing Engine) and techniques.
- Experience in the design and development of military systems, including utilisation of GFX and COTS components.
- Substantial experience working in an engineering project multi-disciplinary environment preferably within the defence industry.
- Experience working with a broad set of internal stakeholders and external partnering organisations to achieve common goals.
- Experience in development methodologies on complex modern systems using a documented process.
