This role involves teaching students with hearing and/or vision loss, utilizing various strategies such as tactile signing, Braille, Auslan, Deafblind fingerspelling, and haptics.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing inclusive lesson plans to cater to the diverse needs of students with hearing and/or vision impairments.
- Establishing positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure collaborative support and student success.
- Engaging in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching practices and stay current on best practices for students with hearing and/or vision impairments.
Required skills and qualifications:
- Approval to teach Vision and Hearing (Primary) is essential.
- Knowledge of the NSW Syllabus K-12 and understanding of Literacy and Numeracy Progressions are required.
- Demonstrated capacity and willingness to engage in professional learning and upskilling are necessary.
