We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Energy Services team at BlueScope. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing mechanical engineering design solutions for capital projects, including the design, commissioning, and installation of steam turbines, alternators, and air compressors.
Key Responsibilities- Provide mechanical and coordinate structural design solutions for capital projects.
- Provide technical engineering advice and support to maintenance regarding suitable solutions for equipment remediation and life extension.
- Manage external consultants to deliver detailed engineering solutions.
- Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor the assigned engineering projects.
- Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards, and specifications.
- Deliver engineering solutions and services to agreed schedules.
- Provide quality, cost-effective engineering solutions that meet process functional requirements and operating plant life.
- Work collaboratively with and provide technical advice to other engineers.
- Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree.
- Proven knowledge and a track record of mechanical engineering design, including the completion and checking of detailed calculations.
- General knowledge of Inventor and AUTOCAD as well as other engineering analysis packages.
- Good working knowledge of drafting processes.
- Strong safety focus.
- Strong relationship building and the ability to work collaboratively with a team and customers.
