The RoleWe're seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Reliability Engineer to join our PKET operations and engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will provide mechanical engineering expertise, develop and own reliability management systems, and foster a fundamental process understanding throughout the team.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement procedures to ensure safe operating envelopes and environmental licenses are adhered to.
- Provide mechanical engineering insight during development and review of operational procedures, HAZID's, and HAZOP's.
- Offer SME advice on mechanical aspects of PKET operations.
- Engage with operational partners to maintain end-to-end process understanding in mechanical safety and plant optimization.
- Develop a process for reliability engineering and failure root cause analysis.
- Provide SME advice during development of risk-assessed maintenance activities.
- Offer technical advice during development of emergency response plans and activities.
- Own key KPI's and reporting.
- Champion asset/equipment condition monitoring.
- Assist in discipline site-specific maintenance projects.
- SME owner of hardware barrier integrity.
- Provide technical assurance.
- Ensure compliance to relevant processes, standards, and legislation.
- Assist with development of maintenance strategies for new equipment.
- Develop and implement reliability improvement strategies.
- Support asset life-cycle costing model work.
- Perform engineering calculations to determine optimization options.
- 10 years of experience as a mechanical engineer in the process industry, preferably in oil and gas or chemicals.
- Mechanical engineering degree.
- Experience with a major hazard facility.
- Process safety training and fundamental process safety knowledge.
- Project management experience.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Competence with Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to work within a team and develop/coach others.
- Ability to conduct complex data analysis and calculations with high accuracy.
