The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Reliability Engineer to join our PKET operations and engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining safe and efficient operations, providing mechanical engineering expertise, and fostering a fundamental process understanding throughout the team.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement procedures to ensure adherence to safe operating envelopes and environmental licenses.
  2. Provide mechanical engineering insight during the development and review of operational procedures, HAZID's, and HAZOP's.
  3. Offer subject matter expertise on mechanical aspects of PKET operations.
  4. Collaborate with key operational partners to maintain end-to-end process understanding in mechanical safety and plant optimization.
  5. Develop and maintain a process for reliability engineering and failure root cause analysis.
  6. Provide subject matter expertise during the development of risk-assessed maintenance activities.
  7. Offer technical advice during the development of emergency response plans and activities.
  8. Own and report on key KPI's.
  9. Champion asset/equipment condition monitoring.
  10. Assist in discipline site-specific maintenance projects.
  11. Own hardware barrier integrity.
  12. Provide technical assurance.
  13. Ensure compliance with relevant processes, standards, statutory legislation, risk controls, and industry standards.
  14. Assist in developing maintenance strategies for new equipment.
  15. Develop and implement reliability improvement strategies.
  16. Support asset life-cycle costing model work.
  17. Perform engineering calculations to determine optimization options, adhere to Australian standards, and follow industry best practices to ensure plant reliability.
Requirements
  1. 10 years of experience as a mechanical engineer in the process industry, preferably in oil and gas or chemicals.
  2. Mechanical engineering degree.
  3. Experience working with a major hazard facility.
  4. Process safety training and fundamental process safety knowledge.
  5. Project management experience.
  6. Strong written and oral communication skills.
  7. Competence with Microsoft Office software.
  8. Ability to work within a team and develop/coach others.
  9. Ability to conduct complex data analysis and calculations with a high level of accuracy.
