Job Opportunity: Claims Consultant

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our public sector claims team in the role of Claims Consultant. This position will be based in Sydney, with a requirement for at least three days per week in the office.

This role is integral to the delivery of claims management services to clients. You will handle a portfolio of general insurance claims for local government clients, focusing on liability claims.

Responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end processes for a mixed portfolio of primarily public liability, professional indemnity, and property claims;
  • Conduct accurate reserving, claims investigation, manage claims costs, and negotiate with various third parties;
  • Build and maintain rapport with clients;
  • Foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including brokers, underwriters, and reinsurers.
Requirements
  • Must have current or previous experience in end-to-end claims management;
  • Good written and oral communication skills;
  • A strong customer service approach;
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure and work flexibly when required;
  • The ability to work in Australia.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Previous experience managing public liability/casualty claims;
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, such as law, business/commerce, loss adjusting, or ANZIIF studies;
  • Previous client-facing experience.
