A leading hotel in the heart of Darwin, Rydges Palmerston offers a unique blend of style and sophistication. As an Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel, focusing on Food and Beverage operations while overseeing other departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily hotel operations and ensuring all departments work towards common goals.
  • Primarily focus on F&B day-to-day operations while maintaining oversight of other departments.
  • Support, work with, and inspire every team member in all departments to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service and direct hands-on support of the Food & Beverage management team.
  • Assist the F&B team with stock control and ordering as required, and support the Front Office Team with daily tasks.
  • Oversight and control of various aspects of the hotel's accounts, including A/R, weekly banking, and cash control.
  • Be on-site and provide coverage in the General Manager's absence, including weekends.
  • Maintain a relationship with the hotel owners and lead, recruit, train, motivate, and coach a high-performing team.
  • Report on business performance, sales, new initiatives, and relevant issues, and stay up-to-date on new products, services, and industry trends.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar role or ready to step up into a challenge.
  • A career-minded hospitality professional with knowledge of Opera PMS & Micros.
  • A passion for Food & Beverage with hands-on abilities and a valid RSA.
  • A solid grasp of hotel accounts processes and strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, motivated, and with a positive attitude.
