Job Opportunity: Risk Management Specialist

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting business units with risk management coordination, including identification, analysis, mitigation, and implementation in accordance with the Qantas Group framework, policies, and procedures.

  • Conduct research into legislation and analyze safety data and trends to provide risk management insights.
  • Coordinate transformational programs to identify, analyze, and mitigate risks to deliver and achieve ALARP outcomes across various programs.
  • Coordinate and engage with stakeholders to ensure risk assessments are conducted and stored in accordance with the Qantas Group risk framework, policies, and procedures.
  • Using technology and data-based solutions, coordinate analysis to identify risks insights and develop recommended efficiencies/improvements to support business units in driving risk reduction and transformation.
  • Conduct research from multiple data sources for Board reports and safety committee meetings to drive risk insights and areas for continuous improvement.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Ideally, you'll have:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience within the aviation industry (preferable).
  • A Certificate/Diploma in risk management (preferable).
  • Strong data analytical and problem-solving skills to deliver insights.
  • Experience in risk management activities, including Bow Tie risk methodology and risk frameworks.
  • Sound knowledge of aviation, occupational safety, and preferably environmental legislation as well as relevant AUS/NZ and ISO Standards and Codes of Practice.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Commitment to change and continuous improvement.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with all levels of management.
  • Ability to build effective relationships and influence stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a multi-discipline team.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
