
Health Surveillance Manager

Job Description:
In this role, you will provide leadership to team leaders across various functions, including data processing, systems implementation and management, stakeholder engagement and support, and data surveillance and analysis. You will also provide policy, program, and coordination support to the director to shape the organization's input to whole-of-agency, whole-of-government, and national frameworks related to occupational disease prevention, detection, and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide timely, accurate, and expert advice to the director on the status of, and risks to, key business deliverables and projects.
- Provide practical and strategic support and leadership to team leaders to ensure priorities are delivered on time and as required, and to instil a workplace culture that reflects the organization's values.
- Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of the legislative and policy framework that underpins health surveillance for mine and quarry workers in Queensland, and of the corresponding requirements for stakeholders (workers, employers, and doctors).
- Prepare complex, detailed, and accurate correspondence, including briefing notes, reports, submissions, and written responses to stakeholders on a wide range of policy and operational topics.
- Build and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders, including the medical sector and mining employers, to support delivery of business priorities.
- Attend and present at various forums on behalf of the organization.
Requirements:
- Leadership Skills: Ability to lead and manage team leaders to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage with various stakeholders.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Policy Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the legislative and policy framework that underpins health surveillance.
