Melbourne, Victoria, Australia beBeeCare Full time $39,480 - $48,100

Our program aims to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children and young people aged 10 to 17 who have been placed under Child Protection orders.

">

The Teaching Family Model (TFM) is an evidence-based model of care that we are implementing at our Residential Care Program. TFM uses teaching interactions, relationships and skills building which is targeted to reduce challenging behaviours and increase pro-social behaviours. The model is trauma informed and helps young people identify personal stressors and develop appropriate self-regulation techniques.

The goals of the program include reduced problem behaviours, increased pro-social behaviours, increased social skills, accomplishment of age-appropriate tasks, and relationship development. While working with children and young people who have endured trauma, neglect, and abuse requires resilience, compassion, and a commitment to their growth and well-being, our roster operates 24/7, offering a variety of day shifts and overnight shifts.

We are seeking team players who can collaborate effectively with various stakeholders, prioritising the best interests of the young person. Strong communication skills, active listening, and a commitment to maintaining professional boundaries are essential. Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to multitask with ease are also required.

The successful applicant will have a minimum Cert IV in Child, Youth & Family Intervention or equivalent qualification and must complete the mandatory upskilling units as required by Department of Families, Fairness and Housing. A driver's license is also essential for transporting young people.

">Key Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively within a dedicated team to deliver high-quality therapeutic care
  • Implement current best practice therapeutic interventions and program guidelines to ensure the highest standard of care and child safety
  • Serve as a positive role model, supporting young people in their educational, social, and recreational pursuits while fostering independence
  • Create a safe and nurturing home environment, including managing household duties and providing nutritious meals
