  • Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team as a Child Health Nurse. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality child health services to Aboriginal children aged 0–5 across Broome and surrounding communities.

  • Key Responsibilities:

• Provide scheduled developmental health checks and childhood immunisations
• Facilitate recalls, screenings, and follow-ups
• Provide case management for at-risk children and coordinate specialist referrals
• Promote uptake of the Kimberley Maternal & Child Health Protocols
• Deliver education, training, and mentoring to staff and community members
• Support women's groups, parenting, and mums & bubs programs
• Contribute to child health data collection, monitoring, and reporting
• Participate in planning forums and community awareness activities

  • Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Postgraduate qualification in Child Health
• Experience delivering child or maternal health services in a Primary Health Care setting
• Understanding of Aboriginal health issues in remote WA communities
• Skills in community-based health promotion and health education
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and clinical databases
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and cultural competency skills
• Current WA Working with Children Clearance and National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain)
• Manual WA C Class Driver's Licence (or ability to obtain) and willingness to travel frequently by 4WD or light aircraft

• Location allowance of $2,149 (single) or $4,298 (dependant)
