Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as a Hydrodynamic and Coastal Modeller. In this role, you will be responsible for providing innovative solutions to marine and aquatic ecological issues by interacting with engineers and approvals specialists. You will also be analysing met-ocean/oceanographic and water quality data, undertaking three-dimensional hydrodynamic modelling and two-dimensional spectral wave modelling, and supporting Maritime and Coastal teams in delivering coastal numerical modelling assessments.


Responsibilities
  • Interact with engineers and approvals specialists to provide innovative solutions to marine and aquatic ecological issues.
  • Analyse met-ocean/oceanographic and water quality data.
  • Undertake three-dimensional hydrodynamic modelling and two-dimensional spectral wave modelling.
  • Undertake numerical modelling for dredging, wastewater discharges and oil spills.
  • Support Maritime and Coastal teams in delivering coastal numerical modelling assessments.
  • Provide environmental advice to clients.
  • Contribute to the preparation of high-quality proposals and technical reports.
  • Collaborate with project team members to ensure a positive client experience in project delivery.
  • Participate in meetings with clients, regulators, and subcontractors.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor degree qualifications in Environmental Engineering.
  • Experience with numerical modelling software (MIKE software suite preferred).
  • Experience with analysis of met-ocean/oceanographic and water quality data.
  • Efficient data management, mathematical and data analysis skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and writing skills, including experience in preparing reports for clients and/or regulators.
